Canada Post Strike

Important Notice

Due to the Canada Post strike, you may experience delays in receiving or sending mail, including your member statements. Now’s a great time to switch to e-statements; learn how here.

Direct Deposit

Registering for direct deposit is a great way to ensure that you’ll receive your government benefits and payments in a timely manner. Here are three simple steps to get started:

    1. Visit the government website for the complete list of benefits and payments that can be deposited directly into your Caisse account.

    2. Ask your employer to provide the option for direct deposit.

    3. Please contact us if you require details or assistance setting up direct deposits.

Direct deposits not only save time but are better for the environment and offer better protection from fraud.

Member’s Financial Obligation

Please note that members are responsible for making regular payments and meeting their financial obligations on credit cards, loans, and mortgages during the postal service disruption. The service guarantee will likely affect items already in the mail, even a while after the strike ends.

Setting up automatic payments will provide you with peace of mind. Your bills will be paid on time, without you having to think about it.

Additionally, most service providers (like Manitoba Hydro, Winnipeg Utilities, etc.) have an option to make payments directly on their websites.

Alternatives Banking Methods

Caisse also offers alternative banking methods to make your payments:

  • In branch (during hours of operations) – we can assist you with setting up automatic payments with your providers
  • Digital banking (online with e-Caisse and on mobile via the Caisse App)

If you are not able to visit the branch or do not have internet access, you can call your local branch directly, and they will help you complete your transaction safely and securely.

Please stay tuned for updates via the Canada Post website.
